The By-Laws
of the Association of Firearm and Tool Mark Examiners serve as
the road map for conducting association business. It is the
committee’s responsibility to receive recommended changes or
modifications to the existing By-Laws and present them to the
general membership for consideration. Any member of the
association in good standing may suggest a modification or
change to the By-Laws but must do so in writing. The committee
can ignore no suggested change or modification to the By-Laws.
The committee
will determine which applicable Article of the By-Laws will be
affected by the proposal. The committee members will
independently evaluate the suggested changes and will offer
their opinions and insight regarding the modifications. The
committee will then be responsible for final wording of
suggested changes and present them to the general membership
along with a recommendation for adoption or rejection.
Formalized
changes to AFTE’s By-Laws occur by majority vote of its
members in attendance at the annual business meeting.
