HISTORY:
The position of AFTE Historian was combined with the AFTE
Secretary position from 1980 when Eugenia Bell was elected to
replace Marshall Robinson and continued until 1991 when Mr.
Larry Fletcher was elected AFTE Secretary.

OBJECTIVE:
The objective of the office of historian is to preserve
records relating to the evolution of the association, who the
individuals were, when and what contributions were made in the
past for future reference by members and interested parties.
RESPONSIBILITY:
The AFTE Historian is responsible for preserving any and all
documents, photographs, and records related to the Association
of Firearm and Toolmark Examiners meeting, seminars and
business whether they are paper or electronic. These records
shall include but are not restricted to such things as the
AFTE Journal, meeting minutes, presentation handouts,
photographs or records kept by individual which deal with the
association and/or forensic firearm identification.
These records may be sent to the historian at any time and are
stored is a clean, dry and secure location for preservation.
BUDGET:
None
COMMITTEE GOALS:
The current historian has and will continue to maintain copies
of the AFTE Journals, since appointment, receive and secure
numerous letters and boxes of photographs and secure copies of
AFTE Training Seminar Programs from 1997 to present.
