Referee Lab Selection Committee

Mission

Provide the association members with a mechanism for independent and confidential evaluation of disputed / questionable proficiency test results and/or quality through the use of referee laboratories.

Duties/Responsibilities

Receive, process, evaluate, and issue guidance on all inquiries and requests from petitioning laboratories to re-evaluate a specific proficiency test.

Receive, evaluate, and process all disputed/questionable test sample/s and documentation from petitioning laboratories, at the agreement of the committee chair or designee.
Establish, update and implement the duties of the committee, committee members, and of the referee laboratories.

Establish, update, and document the procedure to petition the committee chair for proficiency test re-examination by a referee laboratory.

Provide pre-distribution evaluation for vendors of proficiency tests and potential future proficiency test when mutually agreed upon by the committee chair or designee, at their expense, to insure validity and quality of the test.

Provide recommendations to test vendors on issues concerning test concept, design, development, and construction.

Maintain and recruit a list of laboratories to be used for proficiency test evaluation services.

Recruit and coordinate above duties with committee members, as needed.

Provide reports to the AFTE Board of Directors.
