AFTE Member's Area Password Reset (04/25/04)

Okay Don't Panic!

All member passwords have been reset for security purposes.  When the members area was first established passwords were used that were very insecure and these have never been updated, until now!

Please read this entire page before doing anything else.  You will find information below that explains how you can retrieve your new login details and more.

Usernames have not been changed.

  Read This Part!

The AFTE website contains three separate and independent areas that require usernames and passwords.  They are the:

  1. Member's Area

  2. Member's Message Board

  3. Public Message Board

Your password to area number 1 is the only one that has changed.

This password reset has no effect on your forum login usernames and passwords.  This includes both the Member's Area Message Board and the Public Message Board.

Registration for the message boards is, and will always be, a separate registration from the AFTE Member's Area.

So, when you get your new login information for the Member's Area you will still use the old username and password that you had been using to login to the message boards.  You can tell if you are logged into the message board by looking at the top of the board page.  If you see "Welcome Guest" you are not logged in.

  Retrieving Your New Password

You only need to enter your email address to have the new password emailed to you.  All email addresses were converted to contain only lower case letters so you will want to enter your email address this way.  Do not use uppercase letters in your email address.

Remember, your username and password are case sensitive so enter them exactly as they are listed.

You can get your new login details by clicking here

  Changing your password

If you want to change your password for the AFTE Member's Area you can do so by logging in and going to http://www.afte.org/MembersArea/memberdetails.shtml.

  1. Click the "Edit Account Details" link,

  2. log back in, and

  3. click the "Change Password" link at the bottom of this page.

If you change your password make sure you use at least 6 characters.

Passwords can also be changed in the message boards via your Message board Control Panel.

As always, if you have any problems email me at webmaster@afte.org.

Thanks,

Scott Doyle
