The banquet invocation was given by John
Cayton and an excellent dinner followed.
Outgoing AFTE President Bob Shem
re-opened the AFTE business meeting with some brief opening remarks
followed by the awards ceremony.
Receiving the President's Award
were members Jeffrey Scott Doyle and Michael Haag.

Accepting for Michael was his father Lucian
Haag.
This year's Member of the Year
Award was given to Jack Dillon

Scholarship Committee
chairman, Dave Santora, announced the recipient of this year's
Scholarship Award is Christina Tague.
Watch for a bio of Christina which will be posted soon to the website.
The Best Paper Award
was presented to Jason Crafton for his paper titled, "BUNTER
TOOLMARKS, SIGNIFICANT OR
INSIGNIFICANT?".
Host committee members Adrienne
Williams and Carl Rone were also recognized for
their hard work in organizing this year's training seminar.
The Calvin Goddard Award
was presented this year by special guest Calvin Goddard Zon,
grandson of Calvin Goddard. The recipient of the award was
Willie Odernaal of the Pretoria Ballistics Unit in South
Aftrica.
Also receiving a Special
Recognition award for his hard work as AFTE's Secretary was
Lannie Emanuel. Lannie can be seen below receiving
the award from AFTE Membership Secretary Ray Cooper.

A second Special
Recognition Award was given to Mickey French for
his hard work as the AFTE Journal Editor.
Upon completion of the awards
presentations Bob Shem introduced the incoming AFTE President,
Ann Davis of the Virginia Division of Forensic Science.

Bob's last official function of the
evening as outgoing president was to close the AFTE Business Meeting.
Following the close of business AFTE held
the annual Raffle. What could be considered the GRAND PRIZE, a
cotton box donated by CyberNational
was won by Ray Kusumi, Washington State Patrol.
Among the other winners were Jim
Hamby and Jamie Becker seen below.
