This 1-day program will focus on disassembly, repair and reassembly as well as functioning of various systems. Performing lessons repeatedly will ensure good hands on instruction for a better understanding of the firearm.

This is a full day hands on course and will cover the Sig Arms semi automatic product line as well as the assembly/disassembly and the serial number system. Bank will also go over the manufacturing processes of the Barrel, Breech, Extractor, Ejector along with how to contact Sig Arms for support with questions

Ruger GP100 Revolver Repair

This 1 day course will cover the Ruger GP 100 Series of revolvers. The course will concentrate on the Disassembly, Reassembly, Function, Inspection and Repair of the GP100. The attendees will also receive information on the manufacturing process including rifling and serial numbering. The attendees will receive Training manuals and handouts of Information critical for the Firearms Examiner.

  This 1 day course will cover the Glock semi automatic pistol. The course will concentrate on the Disassembly, Reassembly, Function, Inspection and Repair of all models of the Glock pistol. The attendees will also receive information on the manufacturing process including rifling and serial numbering. The attendees will receive training manuals and handouts of information critical for the Firearms Examiner.

The Fundamentals of Scientific Firearm Examination for Non-Examiners

  This workshop is for students only, preferably students in forensic programs who aim to work in a crime laboratory. This workshop is not for firearm examiners. It will provide the attendee with an introduction to the basic principles of firearm examination, terminology and manufacturing methods of firearms.

This course is an overview that teaches the fundamental principles of Tool Mark examinations. The content of training will include instruction including various types of tools and manufacturing process, Tool Marks, and the aspects of tool mark examinations including- collection, classification, comparison, and identification. There is a hands on component which will involve the use of stereo and comparison macroscopes.

Integrity, Character and Ethics in Forensic Science

The goal of this presentation is to provide individuals within the Forensic Science community a heightened awareness of both the ethical and value based issues that impact on their ability to perform their duties. Topics covered will include:

  • Value Development

  • The Ethical Continuum

  • The Rationalized Left Shift

  • Martin's Law of Compounding Error

  • The Hammer Model of Scientific Misconduct

  • The DOOR model for issue resolution

The presentation is highly interactive. It combines, in a multi-media format, traditional lecture, Socratic interaction, video case studies and hands-on exercises. The program stresses individual thought, self-examination and development through a holistic examination of ethical dilemmas, both in the abstract and in reality.
