AFTE 2010 Cowboy Shoot
Green Valley Resort—Henderson Nevada
Sunday, May 2, 2010 (~1-4 PM)
t’s time to match your skills
against your fellow AFTE members in an old fashioned Cowboy style shooting
competition! Replica guns, wax ammunition and targets will be set up in the
event area and those who sign up will get a timed run through the course.

Here’s how it works—One at a
time, shooters approach the monitored shooting area along with a range officer
and a timer. When the timer goes “BEEP”, the shooter will engage the targets
with a pre-loaded revolver and deliver 5 shots in sequence—one to each of 5
targets—then set the revolver down. With the time still running, the shooter
will then engage the targets with a lever action rifle and again deliver 5 shots
on 5 targets in sequence and set it down (action open and empty). Finally (and
with the timer still running) the shooter will use the double barrel shotgun and
put two shots on 2 targets and set the gun down (action open and empty). The
time stops on the last shot.
- A 5-second penalty is
added for each missed target.
- Targets engaged out of
sequence will incur a 10-second procedural penalty.
- Long guns left in an
unsafe condition (action closed or not emptied) will incur a 10-second
safety penalty.
- The lowest combined
total time will win a prize!

The cost for a single set will
be $10 for your first try and then $5 for each additional attempt. (3 tries for
$20)
I’ve tried this and it is a lot
of FUN! If you are arriving by mid day Sunday and would like to demonstrate your
skill, look for the sign up area near registration. All payments will be
collected at the event as there will be no pre-pay options.
Our Special Thanks to:
