Warning FBI GRC users! (8/6/02)

If you have received our new GRC 2002 database CD and are using Office 2000, Office XP, Access 2000, or Access XP, do not install the new GRC database on your system!!  The version on the CD is for Access 97 users only.

Access 97 was used to compile the new application and included is a run-time version of Access 97 on the CD that installs by default when you follow the instructions provided on the CD.  Installing this application will corrupt your install of Access 2000/XP by overwriting your newer Access system files with older Access 97 files.  You will not be able to open any database files written with Access 2000/XP after the install.  

The only remedy if you do the install is to reinstall your newer version of Office or Access to get your system back to normal.  

If you are using Access 97 you should not have any problems and will be able to run the new GRC application.

We are aware of this problem and have made versions of the database application for use with the newer versions of Access.

Contact the FBI Laboratory via the GRC Hotline number provided with your CD for more information. And please quickly spread the word to other users who may not be AFTE members.
