  1. Honorable Barbara Howe – Topic – Courtroom Testimony by the Firearms Examiner. Demeanor of the Expert Witness – a Judicial Perspective

  2. David Kochol, Vice-President Mec-Gar USA, Inc. Mec-Gar supplies magazines to many of the firearm companies. Discussion will include manufacture, quality standards and identification of gun magazines.

  3. Mr. Ed Tollman – Guns of Norwich Historical Society – Topic – The Gun Makers of Norwich, CT

  4. Sgt Catherine Doherty – Boston Police Department – Defending the Boston Police Departments Firearms Laboratory at Daubert Hearings in court.

  5. Lawrence C. Pilcher – Rhode Island State Crime Lab – Unusual Serial Numbers found on Glocks.

  6. Bob Hathaway – Rhode Island State Crime Lab - Firing Pin Hole Shear Marks left by a Lorcin S/A/P.

  7. Adel Irizzary – Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office – Update on the August IBIS User’s Meeting that was held in Florida.

  8. Bob Hathaway – Report on conversations with Dr. Eric Buel ( Director of the Vermont State Forensic Lab ) regarding thoughts on looking into a College or University instituting a degree program dedicated strictly to training firearms examiners.

  9. Ron Borgio from Smith & Wesson will be attending the conference and it is anticipated we will be receiving a product update.

  10. Mr. Rick Assinck, President – Twin Tooling, Inc. (Gormley, Ontario – Canada) - manufacturer of “The Secure Firing Devise” – will discuss the remote firing device and will demonstrate its use. Note: Live Demonstration will be conducted on the indoor range of the Connecticut Lab.

Members Update

Congratulations to Kimberly Stevens, Firearms Examiner for the Maine State Police Crime Laboratory and her husband on the birth of a daughter on Thursday, August 3rd. Mother and daughter are doing fine.
