Late yesterday I started receiving
emails with virus infected attachments. The numbers
being received have steadily increased overnight.
Also, and especially disturbing is the method being used
this time.
The emails may appear to be from
someone you know and they will have a "Zipped" file
attachment that requires a password to open. Of course
they supply the password. Once you open the attachment
your PC will become infected.
By placing the virus in a password
protected file your anti-virus software cannot detect the
presence of the virus!
The screen shot below shows one email I
received and it also shows at the bottom of the email where
my anti-virus software did not detect the infection.

As you can see in the email above it
looks like it came from firearmsID.com. I can
assure you it did not!
So all emails should be considered
suspicious! The attachment may have a variety of names
as will the content and title of the email.
Please take extra precautions in
opening any attachments you receive in you email! A
good plan would be to always email the person back asking if
they intended to send you the file you received.
Thanks,
Scott Doyle
