Beware of Fake Websites!
« on: August 18, 2005, 10:10:28 PM »
If you have a PayPal account and receive an email like the one below do not click the link in the email!  This link will take you to a fake PayPal website that looks exactly like the real PayPal website.  However it is far from legitimate!

Fake sites like these are a growing problem called "Phishing".  They are designed to trick you into entering your login password or account details as you normally would to login to the legitimate site.  Once you supply your login information your PayPal account will be sucked dry!

This problem also happens with most online banking sites, ebay and other popular financial websites.

Always look in the toolbar of your browser for the small "padlock" to ensure you are on a secure site.
