Criminalist II or Criminalist I (Firearms And Toolmark Examiner)
Salary: Criminalist II $6,264-$7,691 per month plus attractive benefits package.
Criminalist I: $5299- $6504 per month plus attractive benefits package.

The Oakland Police Department Criminalistics Laboratory has an opening at the Criminalist II level in the Firearms Unit of its ASCLD-LAB accredited laboratory. This is the journey level classification in the Criminalist series. We are seeking candidates who have at least two years of forensic science laboratory experience and are casework qualified in forensic firearms analysis. If there are an insufficient number of qualified candidates at the Criminalist II level, the City may fill the vacancy at the Criminalist I level with a candidate who has a minimum of one year of training in forensic firearms analysis, and train as necessary.
