Sound of Bullets- As
previously reported, the AFTE Journal OCR Committee
is hard at work bringing the many articles from past AFTE
Journals to the website. In 2001 AFTE member
Lucien Haag presented to the attendees of that
year's annual training seminar a very interesting research
project titled, "The Sound of Bullets".
An article detailing this research project was recently
published in the Summer 2002 AFTE Journal. For a limited
time Mr. Haag's article is being made available to the public
as an example of the quality material routinely found in the
AFTE Journal. As a bonus several audio files have been

is with deep regret that we have to inform members of the
passing of one of the founding fathers of AFTE and our 4th
President, Arthur R. Paholke. Art was
recuperating from a stroke when he suffered a fatal heart
attack. To view

A Dime? -
We solicit ammunition
from our user (police) agencies and 99% of the time
it is normal run-of-the-mill ammunition. But once in
a while there comes along something quite unique.
The following photographs are of a rather unique
reloaded shotshell, which first got my attention by
the deformation in the crimp. Cutting the shotshell
open revealed fourteen stacked dimes in place of the
lead shot. -
