Ken Raynor- The AFTE family has suffered a huge loss this week.  On December 28, 2003 AFTE technical advisor Ken Raynor passed away after a brief illness.  Ken will always be remembered by AFTE members manning the Brownell's booth at the annual training seminars.  Ken's friendly face will definitely be missed by all and our condolences go out to his family.  Thank you Ken for your many years of assistance to the organization.

Neel (BATF/Atlanta) has accepted chairmanship of the Scholarship Committee.  David Santora has resigned his position as chairman due to a new job commitment, but plans to remain on the committee.  Please join the AFTE Board in thanking David for his service to the organization.

Ethics Violation- The Board of Directors has determined that a fellow AFTE member has violated the Code of Ethics. As authorized by the AFTE Enforcement of the Code of Ethics under Section II. Sanctions Imposed for Ethical Violations, the Board has voted for expulsion and public censure. This member has the right to appeal the decision of the Board of Directors before the general membership at the next business meeting, and has notified President Ann Davis of his intent to do so... My Norton's Anti-Virus detected virus infected attachments.  These e-mails (see screenshot) seem legitimate but are not.  Microsoft never distributes updates via email.  Some may have already received these but I felt it very important to warn everyone since these e-mails look so official.  DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENTS if you receive one of these e-mails.  More information about this can be found on the Microsoft web site by clicking here.

Death of AFTE Member- The Association is sorry to report that Regular Member C. R. "Rocky" Lane passed away on June 10th, 2003 as the result of a heart attack.  He was 63.  Rocky worked at the West Virginia State Police Lab as the supervisor of the Firearms Unit.  [Obituary] [Obituary Guestbook]
