AFTE Forums-
In case you haven't
been by lately, the AFTE website has added a new and very
powerful tool that allows all members and the public to
interact and communicate. This new tool is called the
AFTE Forums. Similar to the old message boards
that were on the site, the AFTE Forum is now the primary
location for new information being posted to the website.
Fewer posts will show up here on the front page but new
topics and information is being posted daily in the AFTE
Forums. Today, for example, more than six new topics
and/or replies have been posted in the member forums alone.
Included are several important posts made by our
President Ron Marrs.
The new forum is more than just
a message board. Categories have been established that
match the information pages, (like the Job Announcements,
Call for Assistance, Potpourri, etc.) previously located on
the site, that required the webmaster to make the posts.
What makes this important is that all members can now create
their own topics in each of these areas and include any
necessary images or documents with their post. Members
can post replies to these topics which allows for enhanced
communication within our discipline. Also,
administrators can now post job announcements at their
leisure. The "Portal" view to the forum is a new look
that brings together several different elements of the
forum.
AFTE members who have not
registered for the forum must do so and then login or you
will not see the private "member's only" posts.

Forums!

AFTE History-
In honor of our
35th year, one of our Founding Fathers, Stanton O.
Berg, has written an extensive history of the early
days before the formation of AFTE and the “early years”, to
provide our members with a treatise of our birth and
development. He highlights biographical information of the
other Founding Fathers and significant events throughout our
history. The value of this work cannot be measured because
all of our early historical documents have been lost. Be
sure to give Stan a call or drop him a note to thank him for
this tremendous effort...
